SUSTAINABILITY

Studio Calvert was birthed out of a passion for sustainability and repurposing waste materials. Artist Rebecca Calvert started creating her first artworks from waste building materials left over from her own home renovation. As the business grew, sourcing waste material became difficult but now we are proud to come back full circle and commit to our sustainable values. This time through sourcing waste materials from the film production industry in Northern Ireland. After each film/tv production company wraps up, their sites are dismantled and unfortunately a large amount of this material goes straight to landfill. Studio Calvert is now partnering with companies brought into clear film production sites to recover plywood that is used for the backdrop of our artworks. We are excited for this new development and proud to be putting sustainable practices at the heart of Studio Calvert.

We will continue to innovate and explore other ways we can develop sustainable practices in the work of Studio Calvert.
